Martha's Vineyard is a beautiful, triangular shaped island off the coast of Massachusetts, known for it's relaxed environment and eye-catching beauty. You can find peacefulness, relaxation and enlightenment as well as an offering of fun activities! It's been a presidential favorite! In order to get here from the mainland, you can enjoy a pleasurable ferry ride or fly into one of the island airports!
Our guided cycling tours incorporate beautiful beaches, colorful clay cliffs, favorite island artistry, activities and culture into each of our journeys! You will especially love your visit to the island on one of our guided cycling tours with the comfort and view-ability of recumbent trikes! The best way to see scenery while cycling!
MUCH MORE THAN JUST CYCLING!
Journal of one of our Full Day Tours:
"We were greeted by our guide at the ferry terminal and rode in the support van to our starting point - the driver had a platter of fresh berries & beverages waiting for us and we were entertained by the19" DVD monitor playing an extreme sports video!
After an orientation to the recumbent trikes we cycled along the coastal bike path for about an hour and toured two lighthouses. It was interesting to hear about the history & restoration of each lighthouse. [This part of a full day trip varies according to the additional activity of the day.]
- Had some time to shop, found some great souvenirs, followed by a relaxing and tasty lunch.
Then it was off for a couple hours of cycling - following one guide that cycled while the other drove the support van meeting us at strategic locations with nutritious offerings including protein shakes, fresh fruit, water refills and checking to make sure that all was well!
- Using the two way radios to communicate with each other while cycling was very convienent.
When we ended the cycling part of our outing we had a van tour to see the very beautiful Aquinnah Cliffs and other sights along the way. Dinner was in Menemsha on the beach with the prettiest sunset and delicious 3 pound lobsters!
We were then brought back to the ferry terminal to catch the 9:30 ferry. A full day of fun cycling, adventures, and great memories!

Day 1 Pick-up at ferry terminal or island airport, check into hotel and meet for our orientation program. At this time you will receive handouts. Soon you’ll be taking the first ride on your recumbent trike, which is designed for ultimate cycling comfort! Upon return to the hotel we take a short van ride, enjoying lovely sights of the island and stop to eat a delicious dinner followed by the evening’s optional activities. Then we say Good night!
Day 2 We meet for breakfast at 8 a.m., do some warm up exercises and stretches (this is done on a daily basis), then head out for an enjoyable morning of cycling with ocean views, perhaps spotting an osprey’s nest, maybe with occupants. Lunch time is near the water’s edge for a catered gourmet lunch gazing upon a variety of boats in the harbor as well as the Edgartown Lighthouse. [Photo opportunity, so bring your camera]. After lunch we take a short and interesting walk to view the lighthouse close up and learn about the history of the base upon which is sits. Remember, every afternoon gives you options of continuing on to cycle the route for the afternoon or to do a bit of shopping, sunbathing, visiting an art gallery or enjoy the van tour. We head back to the hotel to end our physical activity with stretching, changing clothes, resting and meeting up again for dinner.
Day 3 Meet for breakfast and enjoy another morning of fun cycling. Today we will enjoy visiting the Granary Art Gallery and have lunch among the whimsical sculptures, outside, at the Field Gallery. After lunch we will ride again and have optional activities. Keep in mind; you always ride at your own pace! The support van will be there to pick you up, if wanted, as well as to provide snacks, cold drinks and other needs! Tonight’s dinner will be a fabulous lobster dinner (substitutions available for those who do not eat seafood) at Menemsha Beach, hopefully, with the decor of a lovely sunset.
Day 4 After breakfast, you set out for your morning ride enjoying the sights and sounds along the way. This afternoon, after lunch, we take a van tour up island (you’ll want to bring your camera) and explore the offerings of the Wampanoag’s, allowing time for browsing through their shops, take in a view of the lighthouse, the beautiful Gay Head Cliffs and the ocean. For those that are up to it there is a walk down the trail that leads to the beautiful beach below the colorful, clay cliffs. The van will then bring you to a very nice dinner.
Day 5 This morning’s ride will be to the colorful and infamous gingerbread cottages with a harbor-side lunch. A short van tour will be the closing event before we drop you off at the ferry or island airport for your return to the mainland, giving you time to relax and reflect on your memorable experiences of fun and comfortable cycling on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard.
